10:00 AM Worship
7:30 PM Bible Study
At Middleburg Church of Christ, we strive to adhere to what the Gospel describes as worship. Our meetings are simple, but effective and acceptable worship to our Lord. You will not find any musical instruments except our hearts and voices. We do not meet for meals at our building, but at our members' homes, or local parks. There is no babysitting service available, however we do have a speaker in the nursery which also has a one-sided window to the auditorium. We don't have a choir, praise team etc. We participate in what is called "congregational singing". We also take the Lord's Supper every Sunday.
When we meet for Bible studies we have classes for all ages from infants (who are able to sit up on their own) all the way up to adult Bible study in the auditorium. Class runs approximately 45 minutes long.
After Bible study on Sunday mornings, there is a brief break so that we are able to meet in the auditorium for worship. When we are all seated, one of the men of the congregation will give our announcements. This usually includes a list of people in our congregation or who we know who are sick, out of town, or needs prayers for other reasons. After the announcements are read, another man will open our service with a prayer, which is followed by a Scripture reading. We will sing a few songs, then take the Lord's Supper. After the Lord's Supper, the members of our congregation give the contribution. After one or two more songs, our minister will give his lesson for the day. Once he concludes his lesson, there is an opportunity for anyone who wants to become a Christian. After that, another prayer is said, and we are dismissed.
